A quick lowdown on some of my favourite minerals and crystals

If you are new to crystal energy, here is a brief description of some of my favourites, to help you understand their energies and how they can support your journey.

THE QUARTZ FAMILY

AMETHYST

Amethyst is one of the most well known crystals because of its distinct appearance and healing properties. It is known to calm and clear the mind - handy to have nearby when embarking on creative projects. The bright purple colour corresponds with the Crown Chakra, and as such, Amethyst is great to use in meditation to connect to higher realms. Across many cultures, Amethyst is a symbol of peace and unification, protecting from negative energies and balancing emotions.

SMOKEY QUARTZ

This powerful grounding crystal is a great protector, dispersing negative energies and can help with anxiety, stress and depression. It brings emotional balance and promotes positive thinking. Use Smokey Quartz when it’s time to surrender old wounds and let go of all the things that no longer serve you purpose.

CLEAR QUARTZ

You are a master manifestor. Clear Quartz enhances your mental clarity and raise your vibration to attract pure love, abundance and joy. Clear Quartz is a ‘must have’ for any collection as it amplifies the properties of all other crystals. Look out for magickal Micro Quartz (also known as Fairy or Spirit Quartz). These teeny tiny gems emit beautiful energy - we think they are the disco ball of the natural world.

ROSE QUARTZ

You are loved. Rose Quartz amplifies the love within your being, raising your vibration to attract pure love, abundance and joy. It is widely known and admired for its beautiful colour and gentle, loving energy. Keep a piece in your pocket and in your home to promote kindness, compassion and peace in your daily life.

PHANTOM QUARTZ

A favourite for healers, Phantom Quartz connects deeply with the emotional body, cleanses the aura and is a portal into the spirit world. Peering closely into this mesmerising crystal transports your consciousness back home to the place where all is known and all is truthful. Work with Phantom Quartz to clear past traumas and move beyond feelings of anger, resentment and fear to develop your connection with spirit and your true self. 

GROUNDING & PROTECTION

SHUNGITE

Shungite is a real powerhouse providing protection from EMF’s and other nasties. This carbon based mineral can only be found in Russia and is known for its ability to purify water. Connected to the Root Chakra, this  grounding crystal protects and transmutes harmful frequencies into positive. Shungite is an essential tool for anyone concerned with protecting their energy.

HEMATITE

Remember how strong you really are with Hematite. This metallic, powerful, magnetic grounding crystal will root your body deep into the earth to protect and bring courage, strength and confidence.

The word Hematite is derived from the Greek word for blood and as such aids circulation and inner vitality thanks to its magnetic properties.

GALENA

Galena is an iron ore that can be found in perfect metallic cubes, and in many of our Fluorite and Quartz specimens. Corresponding with the Root Chakra because of its powerful grounding properties - Galena helps with spiritual connection too. It’s otherworldly, magnetic energy can be used to protect from negativity, to manage your own emotional reactions and to help summon up courage and strength to face difficult things head on. 

PYRITE

For protection against all forms of negative energy choose Pyrite. It helps you respond to situations intelligently and enhances memory. Its sheer weight alone evokes a sense of safety and being grounded firmly to earth. Also known as ‘Fools Gold’, it resonates with the solar plexus and is often used to bring abundance. When placed in the far left corner of your home, it will promote good vibes. 

COLOURFUL FAVOURITES

GREEN ADVENTURINE

Green Adventurine is a pure delight. This beautiful heart Chakra crystal is full of hope and good fortune promoting confidence and strength but in a happy, balanced and harmonious way. Use if you have a tendency to worry and overthink to bring grounding, stability and peace to any situation. 

FLUORITE

Fluorite brings magick into your life. This powerful healing crystal cleanses Chakras, transmutes negative energy into positive and brings a deeper state of understanding and connection to spirit.

Corresponding with every Chakra, Fluorite is naturally colourless but can be typically found in hues of purple, violet and green. Blue, yellow, pink and grey are rarer treasures. Look at it in the sunlight, and if you find a rainbow, it is a sure sign of a blessing from the divine.

MALACHITE

Malachite clears and activates the chakras, in particular the heart and throat. It draws negative energy and disharmony into itself, balancing mood swings and the immune system. It is the crystal to use when you need to be brave - used to protect from danger, activate psychic vision and helping make bold decisions and take responsibility for yourself. Malachite balances all things and can help with accepting love and loving unconditionally.
