Say goodbye to foundation and hello to clear, dewy skin

At the beginning of summer, I met a beautiful sister Annabelle. I didn't realise how close we would become although I definitely felt an instant resonance with her.

I was working on front of house at Soul Wellness Hub, and while at the till she asked me 'what foundation do you use? Your skin is amazing'. With a slight blush on my face (my inner child is very shy and doesn't like the attention), I replied 'I make my own, it's for sale in the shop if you would like to see'. With her usual big smile and infectious energy she responded 'show me'. And that was the start of our friendship.

A few weeks later she came back in to tell me how much she loved the cream and that she is no longer wearing foundation either, which she has worn her whole adult life. As did I - with cystic Acne and Psoriasis, I had it all - scars, red patches, dry patches, oily skin and regular flare ups.

Since creating and using my own recipes, I have never had a repeat flare up and my skin tone is so even that I have no need to wear foundation and concealer - and that really is liberating. Especially after spending my entire life not able to leave the house without a full face of makeup - I feel some of this belief was down to a lack of self confidence and not wanting to be looked at after having such bad skin for so many years. But now I don't think about it at all. I am so happy with my skin and receive so many comments on how good my skin looks. What I love most about my moisturiser is how it leaves a dewy glow, even hours after application. That is the avocado oil - my absolute favourite carrier oil, and to quote Annabelle 'your skin sells it'.
